17th Annual Bakersville Christmas Parade

Bakersville will celebrate its 17th annual Christmas Parade on Saturday night December 5th at 6:00 PM. The night time parade is one of the best small town parades in Western North Carolina. Generally, the parade has 70+ entries with participation from churches, civic groups, and clubs. The parade begins at Gouge Elementary School and travels down North Mitchell Avenue to the red light and turns left onto Crimson Laurel Way and concludes at Bowman Middle School. The parade usually has an audience of several thousand. The citizens and merchants of Bakersville will be decorating to the theme "Tinsel Town" and using Christmas movie themes as decorating ideas. The Bakersville Improvement Group encourages everyone to attend and/or participate. For information call Lee Roy or Sue Ledford at 688-3456. There is no entry fee.
